Hello, my name is Jong Sook. My philosophy on work is that many things can be distilled down to relationships. Relationships with your client, your co-workers, the people sitting across the table and so on, they all require attention, focus and, above all, communication. Our job as attorneys is to understand our clients’ needs and be able to deliver effectively. That means that it is not always enough to simply be an expert in your field. Finding solutions and developing successful relationships require hard work, tact, diplomacy, creativity and good communication skills.

I have been fortunate enough to serve two New Jersey governors focusing on policies that affected the state as well as individuals. Clearly diplomacy was critical, but our actions, for example, on housing policy or our statements on hospital stabilization were also key elements of the job. We could be experts on a given policy, but we also needed to be able to communicate with the public and the stakeholders while being sensitive to their needs.

At McManimon & Scotland, L.L.C., I have also had the opportunity to work on finance and redevelopment transactions of all sizes and levels of complexity. Whether it is a real estate closing or a brownfields financing through a State Agency, each project is critical to our clients. Each project demands focus and the best of our talents. My time at McManimon & Scotland, L.L.C. has provided me with the chance to form strong relationships with our clients while developing experience and expertise in finance, land use and redevelopment.

Regardless of your needs – whether it is to form a new entity for your start-up or to structure tax-exempt financing for a blighted area – we have the depth and experience to complete your project. More importantly, however, we understand how to balance intelligence, creativity, hard work and communication in a way that can help you achieve your goals.
