Jong Sook Nee was recently appointed to the Newark Workforce Investment Board (NWIB) by Mayor Cory A. Booker.  The NWIB provides policy and programming guidance to the City of Newark relating to occupational skills training and educational programs that coordinate the needs of employers with the training of workers.  Created under the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998, the NWIB is charged with integrating publicly funded services and training into a workforce system that is flexible, seamless and responsive to the needs of both employers and workers.  As a member of the NWIB, Ms Nee will provide insight and guidance to help identify the needs of the local job market, leverage available resources, over-see the Newark One-Stop Career Center and assist in directing the policy of the other workforce investment programs within the City of Newark.
